Head one block north to Poplar Street and turn right. Continue three blocks to the trailhead on the left at the intersection of Poplar Street and Polk Street. Parking is available on both sides of the road. S. West access road, which traverses the south side of Mount Jumbo (Hike 1 4). The left fork leads to another access at Cherry Street. Cross the road and pick up the footpath towards the L, which can be seen up ahead. Continue to the ridge. Follow the edge of the hillside and cross the grassy flat.

Northeast Missoula • Sawmill–Curry Trail System map Beartooth Publishing: Missoula, Hamilton, Lost Trail Pass This loop hike winds along Sawmill Gulch and Curry Gulch through forested terrain. The trail extends the lower Hike 7 loop, heading up a ridge to a 4,91 5-foot overlook. From the overlook are farreaching views north into the Rattlesnake Wilderness.

Go to the right on the footpath, skirting the 4,91 5-foot over- look at the summit. Steadily weave down the mountain while enjoying the spectacular views of the forested mountains and Sawmill Gulch. 0 on the right. 0 and wend down the hill into a narrow, grassy draw. Curve left down the east slope of the draw into Sawmill Gulch. Skirt the back side of the old ranch ruins, and complete the loop 1 00 yards past the old ranch.
